Introducing Oscar van Dillen’s ‘De Stad’
23/01/2011
We are a long time fan of De Stad, a contemporary classic consisting of 6 movements for ensembles and selected field-recordings, written by Rotterdam composer Oscar van Dillen. De Stad (The City) brings together everything that central to PAUME’s ideas: contemporary avantgarde music presenting images of a city through time and history from the perspective of a neutral but passionate observer. De Stad was originally written for a permanent exhibition at a museum and a CD was released. A very special edition of this CD will be available from PAUME/Betontoon in the near future. Also, we think that De Stad needs to be played live more often and we are working on that. Stay tuned.
